Mesopotamian culture marks one of the earliest and most transformative chapters in human history. Between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers emerged the world’s first known cities, writing systems, legal codes, and monumental religious complexes. Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, and Assyria laid foundational stones for civilization itself — in administration, science, mythology, and social structure.
My articles explore Mesopotamia not only through its own internal developments but also in its enduring influence: on neighboring civilizations, on biblical traditions, and on the evolution of myth, philosophy, and law. From the Epic of Gilgamesh to Hammurabi’s code, and from lapis lazuli trade routes to divine pantheons, Mesopotamian culture reveals how deeply the ancient past continues to shape our present.
